Imelda Molla, known in the art world as Imelda's Art, was born in 1992 after graduating in physiotherapy. An accident changed her life, forcing her to undergo three shoulder surgeries and preventing her from ever returning to her profession. She discovered her pain therapy and the hope of rebirth through colors and canvases.

At Art Expo in New York, Imelda will show only one painting, the most important artwork she has ever created.
A week after leaving the hospital in April 2022, in the nighttime silence, enveloped by the shadow of her pains, depression, panic attacks, and loneliness, unable to sleep, she rose in the heart of the night to paint. Taking a canvas, laying it on the floor, grabbing all shades of blue and the first thing she found, a plastic lid from a makeup palette, with the strength of one hand alone, determined to paint her way to healing, without hesitation, she decided to play with colors, to distract herself from the intensity of the pain that gripped her.
She only wanted to paint, play with colors, and try to distract herself from the pain, without wanting to represent anything specific, but her energy and her strong emotional state unexpectedly reflected on the canvas. Suddenly, the figure of a girl emerged, with a crying face, the right and healthy part of the body clearly outlined while the left, clouded by pain, appeared blurred, as if shrouded in a dark fog.
Every brushstroke was an outpouring of emotions, an explosion of repressed energy that came to life on the canvas like a whirlwind of colors and shapes. Her eyes, clouded by pain and fatigue, traced lines dancing in the darkness, transforming the emptiness of her suffering into a visual symphony of hope and rebirth.
Every color was a musical note in the orchestra of her wounded heart, every brushstroke a dance of liberation from the oppressive weight of illness and human fragility. And so, while the world slept unaware, she painted her soul on the canvas, transforming her pain into beauty, her despair into a manifesto of resilience.
